尾張中村の貧しい農家に生まれた小一郎（仲野太賀）は、田畑を耕し土とともに生きる暮らしに満足しながら日々をすごしていた。ある日、野盗の集団が村を襲い、幼なじみの娘・直（白石聖）が連れ去られそうになる。そのピンチを救ったのは8年ぶりに村に帰ってきた兄の藤吉郎（池松壮亮）だった。若き戦国武将・織田信長（小栗旬）に仕官し、大出世を夢見る藤吉郎は、小一郎に自分の家来になるよう願い出る。
